Do you remember The Sweet Bird Sang alum Milan Tarina aka Pyrrhura? The Slovak singer-songwriter has finally released his new album Less love!
Milan kept his signature ID made up of darkwave synths, thin arpeggiated classical guitar sounds and nasal voice. The recurring themes also haven't faded: time passing, poetry of life, the balance between holding on and letting go..Less love therefore clearly resembles Spring, Pyrrhura's previous release, but in a good way. Milan is an artist who knows how to stick to his trademark sounds. And yet, the production of his latest record is more polished, the veil that protects the vague imagery portrayed by the lyrics is sometimes taken off to give space to emotional outbursts in songs like Go on and never do it and Signs on your skin. Of course this doesn't mean the Slovak songwriter has gone for upbeat extroversion. Less love still paints an inward looking spring overcast that stubbornly clings to memories. We are still waiting for the sun to shine and for Pyrrhura to let go of his keepsakes, but in the meantime, let's enjoy this soul-searching experimental record. Let's go time-feelers, let's go dreamers.,,
