It's one of those days, I want to shout out loud and blame it on the world for my sorrows, tell other people how unfair they have been to me, it's a cruel world...shattered pieces of glass on the pavement under my shoes, angry tears rolling down my cheeks.. but nobody seems to understand my pain: 'Sirens ringing on repeat, sirens no one else can hear..' This Belgian trio from the city of Aalst got it right. Made up of three born-too-late generation X'ers (Angie Clopterop -guitars/vocals, Jonathan Roseleth - drums/vocals and Koen Jacobs - bass guitar) they combine hope, fear and passion on their musical journey.
VVYNN (read = win) 's music is like an angry letter to someone who has done you wrong or a past lover. 'The lyrics are all a bit dark, a lot of them are about breakups, the fear of growing older and trying to make sense of our own little world' Koen Jacobs explains.
VVYNN started out as a duo: Angie Clopterop and Jonathan Roseleth. After playing like this for about a year and half, Koen Jacobs joined on bass guitar which expanded the group's writing possibilities. Before, the guitar had to play the lower and higher regions, now, with a really flowing and sturdy bass they can have a different approach to musical creativity. As a three-piece they recorded their EP LUX in the GAM Studios.
